As promised, here is another video from Chris and Melissa’s Wedding Day. This is their Music Video……

Chris & Melissa were married on May 10, 2008 at the Second Presbyterian Church in Indy. The church always provides such a wonderful backdrop for weddings! Even though the restrictions are a bit
over the top for us professionals, it is still one of our favorite venues to shoot in. The beauty of the church more than makes up for the restrictions placed on us.

We shared the day with Randy & Joanna Baughn of Randalls Photography. They of course did a remarkable job and we had a blast shooting together. Check out their website for pictures from the day.

After the ceremony, we were off to the Meridian Hills Country Club for a wonderful reception. After a very delicious meal, The Flip Miller Band provided the entertainment that kept the dance floor packed all night.

Below is two different takes on the “movie trailer” from their day. The first is a more modern edit showing all the colors of the day. The second is more of a 1930’s edit in black and white with an old movie look added to it. I couldn’t decide which I liked the best so I just put them both on here. Also, keep checking back for their music video as well!

Chris and Melissa….thank you both so much for the opportunity to capture your day.

Tackling Homelessness

Today, Cybil and I spent some time at the Horizon House in downtown Indy. What is the Horizon House you might ask??? It is a homeless multi-service day center that provides a variety of professional and hospitable services that empower our homeless neighbors to develop self sufficiency and permanently end their homelessness.

The Colts have teamed up with the Horizon House over the past 3 years for a fund raiser at the Colts Complex called “Tackling Homelessness.” The fund raiser includes dinner, autographs by a number of Colts, an auction and entertainment provided by Connersvine. Hunter Smith, of both the Colts and Connersvine, will be emceeing the event again this year along with his wife Jen.

We saw some pictures of last years event on the blog of Bobbi and Mike Photography. Cybil commented on the blog that we would have loved to do a video for it. Bobbi emailed and said, “I can make that happen.” Sure enough she did and we will be capturing the entire event and creating some videos for the Horizon House to use in the future.

It was certainly a huge shot of reality for us touring and getting to know what goes on at the Horizon House. We met up with Bobbie O’Connor the Communications & Resource Development Specialist. She led us on the tour of the facility and told us all that they do to help out the neighbors. The Horizon House is for daytime use only. It provides health care, laundry services, showers, mailboxes, phone lines, computers, job training, legal services, clothes, places to store personal items and so much more.

Bobbie almost knocked me over when she told me that 1 in 4 of the homeless in Indy is a Veteran! So sad! Our government should be building mansions for those men and women who served! The number that really got us and brought tears to our eyes….the average age of a homeless person in Indianapolis is only 9 years old. I, like most everybody else, would have guessed around 45 to 50. I am still in shock over that number.

The event will take place on Sunday August 31st @ the Colts Complex on 56th St. It is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $85.00 a person. Dress is casual! Bobbie pointed out the players love this event because they do not have to get dressed up for it! Colts gear is optional as well!

If you are interested in attending…you can contact Bobbie O’Connor at 317.423.8909 ext. 310 or email her at BobbieO@horizonhouse.cc

We hope to see some of you there!
