We really had fun capturing the Horizon House 4th Annual Tackling Homelessness event back on 8.31.08. Hunter Smith was more of a stand-up comedian than anything else that night. He wore many hats though, including emcee, musician, singer, auctioneer, spiritual leader, Indianapolis Colt and host. He is the real deal and it is so refreshing to see a professional athlete like him. The event raised over $100,000! It was the first time that it ever sold out. Many Colts, including Jeff Saturday, Dallas Clark, Adam Vinatieri, Ryan Lilja, Ryan Diem, Justin Snow, and more were there as well. Oh yeah….and the Colts Quarterback(at the time) was there as well. They were there to sign autographs and heckle Hunter from the crowd.
A few of the players showed off their musical talents. Rookie Lineman Mike Pollak, “shredded” on the electric guitar after someone donated $700.00 to see it! 
The Colts DE Josh Thomas is also a 6′5″ 271# singer-songwriter. Hunter auctioned off a two song set for Josh who had NEVER played in front of a crowd before. The set went for over $2,000!
Thank you to Bobbie and the staff at Horizon House for allowing us to be a part of the night. It was an awesome night for a great cause! I would urge everyone reading this to make plans to attend next year’s event.
Marianna and Dustin said their “I do’s” in the chapel at the Ritz Charles in Carmel, Indiana. It was great that Marianna’s parents were able to come from Brazil to join in the festivities and celebrate their beautiful daughter’s Wedding Day.
After the lovely ceremony we headed into the reception where the guests enjoyed seeing the Groom’s Cake, an XBox (sorry if that’s wrong….I don’t know my game consules too well.) Brandon and I sat down to have dinner and after talking with our fellow diners, we realized that Dustin’s great-aunt was from my hometown of Kokomo, Indiana. What a small world we live in?!?!
A little later into the night, Marianna brought out boas, masks and bead necklaces, a Brazilian tradition.
